Safety & Security
The safety of our tenants and their guests is of the upmost importance for Ownership and Building Management of 65 Oak Street LLC. A crisis can happen without warning and pre-planning measures, such as emergency response plans, can be the difference between a minor disruption and a major tragedy.
Emergencies or crises can arise inside any tenant space. Therefore, it is the responsibility of each individual tenant to ensure their staff be made aware of the basic emergency response measures described herein, as well as your company-specific directives to include but not limited to:
- Training of all employees in handling emergencies set forth by your corporate guidelines
- Validating and training your emergency response team.
- Your primary and secondary evacuation routes
- The exterior meeting location, as designated by your management team.
- Maintaining a list of impaired employees that may need assistance during emergencies
- Maintaining emergency call lists and reporting changes to Building Management
- Media inquiries
Below are tips that tenants can follow to promote general safety:
- Lock all doors when the premises are unattended or when practical control of entrance and exit areas is not possible.
- Hang coats and jackets away from the entrance to the office, where they cannot be easily stolen while you are busy.
- Keep valuables out of sight and under lock and key.
- Keep purses and gift packages out of sight and locked inside a cabinet or desk, if possible.
- If you should encounter an unknown person in your suite or on your floor, ask, “May I help you?” If you are not comfortable asking and/or know that the person does not belong in your space, please remain calm and contact security for assistance.
- Do not let persons other than employees and clients into the restrooms.
- If any person comes to your office to do work on behalf of the Office of the Building and you have not been informed, please check the identification with Building Management.
- Keep the fire exit stairwell doors closed and free of debris at all times. Closed stairwells, which are an integral part of our fire safety system, are also a vital part of the Building’s Security system.
